In New York, our first line of defense By:Eugene Robinson

Link to Article

The article that I have chosen is about the car bomb that was found in New York City. I didn’t know too much on the topic until I read the article. A man put a bomb into a suv in Manhattan, after a few hours of the suv being on the side of the street the street vendors noticed that the suv was making popping noises and smoking. The nearby cops responded quickly. New York also has a great bomb squad team the disabled the bomb very quick. With the team up of the FBI and the police of New York they caught the man responsible in just 53 hours.
Yes the argument is supported very well. This article talks about how the police of New York save d the day. Also, police don’t get credit for big things like saving many people from bombs. There is evidence that supports this in the article. The New York police used the VIN number on the suv and tracked down who owned it. The suv was just sold to a young man for cash. After some good old fashion police work they found and tracked down the man who made the bomb. This is a very persuasive argument because it made me believe more in our police's ability. I believe that it reaches the intended audience because I think that people need to know more about subjects like this.
This article made me feel much safer than I did before. I believe that cops do not get that much credit for what they do. When many people think of police they think of tickets and how they will pull you over. They do many other things besides that for example, this article proves that. I never knew that cops did work like that; this article shows and tells me so much. The issue that was presented, i think will help and teach many people that cops are not just people who give you tickets.

Hancock

Hancock is a movie with Will Smith, Will Smith plays a character,"hancock" that has super powers just like superman. in this movie hancock saves lives, and even though he saves many peoples lives all of the citzens of the city are still so mean to him. they will call him bad names and do mean things to him. i dont understand this, if someone was saving lives why would you be mean to him?
Yes hancock is mean to some people, but i would be too if people were mean to me. later on in the movie hancock meets this man "ray" who is in public relations. Hancock saves ray from a train. After he saves ray all of the people who are watching are acreaming at hancock but why? Ray yells stop to the screaming people.
Ray takes hancock in and changes him. He changes him to be alot nicer to the people. But what i dont understand is why should he be nicer. He already saves peoples lives and now they want him to be nice. If i never aged and saved peoples lives and the citzens were mean to me i would be mean too. I just dont get why the people hated hancock and were so mean to him.

Who would ever do this?

I saw this show on tv the other night and it was about the worlds biggest waves. So i was very interested in seeing the biggest wave ever surfed. On youtube i found this video of this man surfing on this huge wave. i have no idea why a person would ever do this. From going to ocean city and having the waves there knock me over i couldnt imagine what a wave like this would do. I would never do anything like this, its crazy.
